Showing us her stubborn side

As most everyone knows our sweet baby girl has been admitted to Primary Children's Hospital with a bad case of RSV. Addy had been coughing and spitting up for a couple days when I took her into the Dr on Friday. The Dr told me that it was from her formula and advised me to put rice cereal into it to help keep it down, I didn't really think that was the issue, but what do you do when they insist it is? So I did as instructed, changed her formula, added rice cereal and the puking stopped for a day until the wee hours of Sunday morning when I fed her the normal feeding and she threw up about three times. This is of course after she would cough so hard she would stop breathing and turn purple. Hubs and I decided we needed to get her into the ER. So away we went to the hospital at about 4:00 a.m. She was admitted to the ER where they put her on oxygen and did an x ray of her lungs. Next thing we knew the Dr told us that they would be transporting her by ambulance to Primary Childrens. We arrived here at PC and I couldn't believe how attentive they all were and were ready for us. They brought my sweet baby in and got her out on the table and she stopped breathing for about 30 seconds. Next little bit was a whirlwind of nurses, techs etc getting iv's in her, oxygen, and all hooked up to everything. She was then given many blood test and another x ray which all showed up to look like RSV. While RSV is going around and many people have it, when a 3 week old baby has it, its pretty scary. They don't have the immunity to fight it off and have a hard time breathing when its present. Anyhow, we are now waiting in the hospital for her to pass this virus and be able to breathe on her own. She has done pretty good but still has breathing spells and eating problems. We hope to be out of here soon, but not too soon.

Words will never be able to express the feeling of seeing your baby struggle to get air. And words will never be able to express how much love and support we have felt from so many many people through this time. We are so grateful for all our families and friends support. It meanst the world to us. We will try to keep everyone posted as we go along.

(Sorry if this is all mumbo jumbo.. I'm on about 2 hours of sleep for the past who knows.. maybe 35 hours or so??) ;)

Can't Get Enough....

As I sit here and write this my two kiddos are snuggling on the couch. Peyton CANNOT get enough of his sweet baby sister.. they are pretty inseparable. He wants to snuggle and hold her all the time and keeps saying "See Mom, everyone said I would get sick of her, and I'm not, I just love her so very much!" We are so very blessed to have such a beautiful family and such great kids! Dean and I are adjusting well to this new life that has been given us. Addy has her days and nights mixed up and I will be honest, sometimes its rough... but I just stare at her in the middle of the night and am so amazed at her sweet self. Through the crying and the feeding and the spitting up I still can't get enough of her. I have posted some new pictures (pictures we just can't stop taking) for our friends and family far away to see... I know, I know, picture overload, but wouldn't you take pictures of this sweet face all the time if it was staring you down all day?? ;)
Death grip on the binky!

Smooshed in her car seat... sooo cute!

I love to dress her up and get her ready for the day, she is a good sport!

Peyton doing what he does best... SNUGGLING her!

So precious rolled up in a ball!

Right after her first sponge bath at home.. this is her finally calming down after screaming at me for torturing her! :(

Mmmm...

Addyson Betty Burrows

She is here! We welcomed Addyson Betty Burrows to our family on March 6, 2010 at 3:03 p.m. She weighed in at 7 lbs 13 oz and 20 inches long! I eventually do want to post the whole story of how everything went for my own journaling records, however I have family who are waiting to see these pictures so for now, you get pictures! We are home and so happy to have her here! She has been visited by many and we cannot express how grateful we are for all the love, support and offers for anything and everything that have been given to us! We are truly blessed and couldn't be any happier right now! Until later.. please enjoy!
